Lineage · Ember Orange chest

Born from the hearths of the frontier.

A fire still lives inside the glass. The warmest Heart — the residual Ember glow of an origin flame, carried through every season.

Origin

Hearth-born

Hearth-born Motes trace their Heart to a frontier hearth: a forge fire, a homestead fireplace, the central fire pit of a settlement. Whatever kindled that flame imprinted on the Mote's chest as a deep Ember glow, and it doesn't fade. Of the three Lineages, Hearth-born is the most common on the sage overworld. Wherever frontier homesteads cluster around a workshop, the light inside those Motes is the light of that workshop.

Culturally, Hearth-born lean into craftwork, hospitality, and forge traditions. They are the Motes most likely to light the lanterns along a road at Duskfall, to tend a hearth fire through the night, to greet a traveler with bread and stone. Their settlements tend to glow a touch warmer than their neighbors' — Ember Orange reading through the dusk, Lantern Amber along the eaves.
